Amrut Greedy Angels 12-Year-Old: India's Pioneering Single Malt Achievement
Amrut Greedy Angels 12-year-old marks a milestone in Amrut Distilleries' trailblazing journey through single malt whisky. As the oldest whisky ever bottled by Amrut—and possibly the first to age a full twelve years in India—it faces the challenges of Bangalore’s intense heat and low humidity, risking over-wooding. This exclusive release, bottled at 60% ABV, showcases a deep and complex character, inviting whisky enthusiasts to explore its rich layers. Packaged with two branded Glencairn Crystal Tasting Glasses, it embodies Amrut's dedication to innovation and excellence, offering a truly groundbreaking whisky from India’s whisky-making tradition.
Tasting Notes
Sip smooth whisky, celebrate moments, elevate every occasion's spirit.
Nose
It is very rich, but at the same time it appears light on its feet.
Intense and delicate. Oily. Sugary, candied fruits, like a cocktail of
tropical fruits. The standout fruit is oranges, but there's so much more
going on as well. It keeps developing over time.
Taste
Intense, oily – almost buttery mouthfeel. Oranges and all sorts
of tropical, candied and dried fruits. It also has a soft nuttiness to it —
almonds spring to mind. Soft caramel notes and some vanilla.
Finish
Very long finish. Steady as she goes, really. The profile remains
unchanged, and it stays for SO long! Caramel, oranges (more
towards bitter oranges now, perhaps?), and almonds.
Comments
I should not be surprised, really. But - wow! This is the nectar of the gods indeed!
